HOW DO TRANSACTIONS WORK?

That's a great question!

Steps

Buyer clicks "buy" on the item listing choosing either PAYPAL or STRIPE

PAYPAL or STRIPE Immediately take the transaction amount from the account of buyer and saves it in a pending state for up to 48 hours.

Seller receives email stating that buyer has purchased item and is offered two choices, accept or decline. Golfswapper provides this option for sellers in case their item is listed across multiple platforms, removing the unfortunate chance that someone purchases an item and it is no longer available. Thus protecting the buyers as well.

If the seller clicks accept, then PAYPAL automatically disburses payment to the seller from the buyer. Golfswapper fees are also collected at that time. Both the buy and seller receive emails confirming the purchase. The dashboard for both the buyer and seller accounts keep a copy of these emails and notes from each other. The seller then ships the item or the buyer picks it up from the seller in accordance with their preference.

If the seller clicks decline, then the buyer is automatically refunded his money from PAYPAL or STRIPE and the hold is cleared.

Typically, unless in scenarios involving Services or multiple of the same item, the seller then closes his listing. The decline button in the sales process also prevents unwanted sales from the seller forgetting to close the item if already sold.
